What are your recommendations for a flight sim program for my PC and a yoke, throttle and possible rudder pedals for home use?

I am not looking for anything I can actually log time with, but something to brush up on procedures, etc.

I have MS Flight Simulator 2000, Professional and it is decent, but I haven't used it in a while and I wonder if newer versions or other programs are better.

Also, who makes a reasonably priced and decent yoke setup? Not sure it actually exists, but I thought I would ask.

I don't want to spend $500 on a set up, just wondering what I can get.
