If you have the money go ahead and switch.

I usually tell people that if they are going to switch, make sure you do it before you solo. If you are almost done with your rating ( you are in the cross country phase) deal with it if you can. SWitching can cost you a lot of extra money.

Tell your instructor it is your runnway while you are on it. Don't ever rush to make the first turnoff. there are cases where the controller may request it but if you don't feel safe, don't do it. You own the runnway while you are on it!!!
