Beechcraft Skipper / Piper Tomahawk

Can anyone tell me if the Beechcraft Skipper has the same flight characteristics as a Piper Tomahawk? I've read that the Tomahawk has touchy flight manners and may not be the best choice for a new pilot. I read somewhere that Beechcraft made 312 of the Skippers. Most of them that I have seen on the market look pretty good...

Flying the TRAUMA HAWK

I would presume the little piper was quoined the "Trauma Hawk" for good reason, but have never flown one.

I've done maintenance on the Piper and have flight time in both the Piper and Beech. I prefer the Skipper just for the simple fact that there is more room in the cockpit. Also, the "bubble" windscreen allows greater visibility.

I too am interested in the Skipper.

I was told that Beech is no longer manufacturing replacement parts for the Skipper (or the Musketeer/Sierra class either).

Is this true?
