I don't think an acclaim would carry five adults, would it?

A King Air would be a better bet than a Lear for sure.

Best cabin twin

A good bet is the Piper Navajo Cheiftan with the colemill conversion with the VG kit. I've owned mine for 7 years lowest maintenence cost of the cabin twins. Useful load is approx +- 2400 lbs. Good tbo on engines, not a runway hog, good airplane could be in the 350 -450K . 40 GPH 185 kts @ 6000'. 800 nm range. Not as quiet as a 421, but then lower maintenence costs, have extensive experience in the C-400 series, aerocommander c-300, beech, etc, best bang for the buck, Navajo cheiftan w/ colemill conv/vg kit. Good luck
