Centurion 2.0 conversions

I was looking at 172's and cherokees when I ran across an ad for a jet powered skyhawk. Thielert aircraft engines make kerosene and diesel powered engines for retrofit into the cessna 172 and the piper cherokee.

When the performance of the centurion 2.0 vs a regular 172 is compared, the differences are glaring. There is a reduction in speed but the range is almost doubled with a fuel burn rate of 5.3 gph. While I cannot afford one of these aircraft, I can't help but wonder if these engines are going to be the future of G.A or just another flash in the pan. What do you think?

I am not trying to advertise for the company or their dealers but I was hoping to get opinions from people in the industry, so I am giving including the link to the above mentioned items.
