Beech Sundowner Purchase Question ?
I have just completed the title search on a 1981 Beech Sundowner and I found a form 337 showing repairs made to the left wing. The left auxillary wing spar was damaged from the left main collapsing during a touch and go. The spar was patched and repaired according to Beech, this was 13 years ago. The secondary spar is support for the main gear and support for the rear portion of the wing as well. This is the 3rd sundowner I have looked at that has had some type of damage. My question is does this repaired secondary spar pose a structural problem and how much would something like this effect the price ? Would anyone not purchase an aircraft with this type damage ? Any help would be appreciated.....

When buying any aircraft you should always have a through pre-buy inspection and have the aircraft professionally appraised and that is especially true in this situation as both of these examinations will answer your questions of value and mechanical worthiness.
My advice would be to look at a different aircraft.
