The Cessna CE-183 Skylane has 4 seats. You can view the Type Certificate data sheet on the FAA web site at www.faa.gov and type type certificate in the search section the TCDS for the aircraft you are looking for is (3A13). The TCDS will give you all the detail about the aircraft by model.

The 182 may not do anything great but it does everything very well and nothing badly. They will lift a big load and carry it a long way. It has always been my opinion after having owned two skylanes that you can put alot of faith in them and your trust will not me misplaced. They are a bit nose heavy with two people on board so care must be given to hold the nose off during landing. More than one 182 has buckled the firewall during landing. Other than that they have no vices.

I realize this is an old topic, but it is also my understanding that it is possible to add a child "jump seat"
Quote from http://www.pilotfriend.com/aircraft%...Cessna/182.htm CAPACITY: Typical seating for four. Some versions had a 'jump seat' for two children. |

You can have a “jump seat” on the CE-182, but only on certain models.
The Cessna CE-182 all models Type Certificate Data Sheet (3A13) shows, Applicable to Models 182E, 182F, 182G, 182H, 182J, 182K, 182L, 182M 120 lb. maximum baggage and/or auxiliary seat passengers. For additional loading instructions, see weight and balance data." And Applicable to Models 182N: "120 lb. maximum baggage and/or auxiliary seat passengers. For additional loading instructions, see weight and balance data." Applicable to Models 182N, S/N 18260056 through 18260445. However, before adding a jump seat for a child check the Type Certificate Data Sheet (TCDS) for serial number installation and weight allowances. Denny of Oakland |
