If you're going to be over water a lot get something with retracting wheels. Ditching a high wig fixed gear airplane will likely get you upside down. I fly a C-35 Bonanza. Thearly Bonanzas are fine airplane if properly maintained. Lot of parts available. They go 150-160 ktas and they are definitely in your price range. Talk to Mike about them.
