Normal Commercial or Part 135?
Here's a commercial question for you guys. I am a multi/ single commercial pilot and CFI. In order to rack on a few more hours, I am thinking about putting up posters and signs around my area, advertising sight-seeing flights for looking at the fall colors and leaves. I personally think this is fine, dandy, and 100% legal. I agree that it is holding out, but it is for sight seeing flights, and not for flights from airport to airport, or beyond 25 nm. I had another CFI tell me that he didn't think this was legal, as I would be operating like a business that provides air rides. He wasn't able to refer me to the FAR that deals with this, though. I would be taking the people up in flight school aircraft and charging them for aircraft rental and instructor time for the time they were up. I would then be paid by the flight school. The posters would only provide my name and number, and not the number of the flight school. Is there any legal issue with doing this??? I, personally, don't see any problem with doing this. Thanks in advance for any help provided.
