Exclamation Aviation law

Hey guys I need some help. I am writing a paper for this class I am taking at Embry-Riddle. The class is Aviation Law and this paper is my end of term paper. I need some help finding some laws or regulations on wildlife hazards around airports. The paper I am writing has me set as a representitive of a client who was struck in the rear end by a negligent pilot while he was waiting for some deer to cross the runway. If you guys could help it would be great. Thank you.

There are four Advisory Circulars that cover this area. I have listed them below the first two contain the information you are seeking. The AC’s can be found on the FAA web sit at (http//www.faa.gov) search for Advisory Circulars, type in the AC number and it will come up as a PDF file.

AC 150/5200-33A Hazardous Wildlife Attractants On Or Near Airports
This Advisory Circular (AC) provides guidance on certain land uses that have the potential to attract hazardous wildlife on or near public-use airports. It also discusses airport development projects (including airport construction, expansion, and renovation) affecting aircraft movement near hazardous wildlife attractants.

AC 150/5200-36 Qualifications for Wildlife Biologist Conducting Wildlife Hazard Assessments and Training Curriculums for Airport Personnel Involved in Controlling Wildlife Hazards on Airports.
This Advisory Circular (AC) describes the qualifications for wildlife biologists who conduct Wildlife Hazard Assessments for airports certificated under Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 139 (14 CFR, Part 139). In addition, it addresses the minimum wildlife hazard management curriculum for the initial and recurrent training of airport personnel involved in implementing a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved Wildlife Hazard Management Plan.

AC 150/5300-13 Airport Design
This Change contains revisions to Table 3-3 and Appendix 2. A requirement to increase the width of the Runway Safety Area at higher altitudes, deleted by Change 6, was inadvertently reinserted in Table 3-3 in Change 8. Appendix 2 includes new standards for runway end siting requirements, including a new 40:1 departure surface.

AC 150/5200-18C Airport Safety Self-Inspection
This Advisory Circular (AC) provides information to airport operators on airport self-inspection programs and identifies items that airport operators should include in such a program.

In the FAR’s there is some information.

Par 139 § 139.337 Wildlife hazard management.
(a) In accordance with its Airport Certification Manual and the requirements of this section, each certificate holder must take immediate action to alleviate wildlife hazards whenever they are detected.

The above rule cover all the wildlife hazards and is again on the FAA web site for download.

Hope this points you in the right direction.
