FAA Warning Letter
I received an FAA Warning Letter about 1.5 years ago. I just set up an interview for a locally based regional airline. I'm just wondering how likely it is that this regional will be able to find this FAA Warning Letter. I thought I heard somewhere that airlines are only able to dig up violations that required certificate action, or some other type of enforcement action. Should I go out of my way to disclose this Warning Letter, or just keep it hush hush, unless they bring it up? I don't want this regional to think I'm hiding anything, but if there is no way they could find out, and they don't ask, I don't think I'd have a problem not bringing it up. Thanks for the help.

Lets try and explain the Warning of Letter as it is an Administrative action. A Letter of Warning is just that a warning you did something that was wrong but it was not done intentional. If a violation is intentional then the FAA would completed a full blown enforcement asking for either a fine or certificate suspension.
Letters of Warning will be taken off your record after 2-years like it did not happen that’s the good news. I would suggest you disclose the Letter of Warning and explain he situation if asked. Don’t provide any more details than necessary. The letter should not hurt your career as a pilot unless you have 2 within a 2-year period then it shows a non-compliant attitude. This is just one man’s opinion. I cannot give legal advise as I am not a lawyer, if you need a legal opinion you should contact an aviation lawyer. Denny of Oakland |

Thanks for clarifying this situation. I will go ahead and disclose it in the application form, under "Do you have any accidents, incidents, or violations?" Honesty is the best policy. I think if I didn't disclose it in this section of the application, they would think I wasn't being 100% honest. Oh well, we'll see what happens. Thanks.
