Logging Time (PIC/XC/Sim. IMC)

Hello,

I have been flying as a saftey pilot and from everything I read I CAN log PIC time and the X/C time while flying right seat as backup pilot for the guy in the right on the foggles, and does the saftey pilot have to sign anything in the other pilots log book or we just log it as normal?

Also, A XC is considered atleast 50nm from the orgin aiport to another airport, say direct, no stops, but is it also considered XC time if you fly from the orginal destination airport and on the way back to the orginal home airport, you make various touch and goes at other strips in between the two airports?

Thanks
