An Italian pilot and Usa regulations

Hello,
I'm a military pilot overseas, in Italy, graduated in the Us AirForce under an exchange program.
Please, I'd like to know if my Commercial pilot licence, issued in accordance with National regulations and ICAO standards, is as vaild in Europe as in Us.
I don't know much of it, because I'm flying on military aircrafts only.
I'm just maintaing valid all my currencies, 'cause I plan to work for civilian companies later on, back in US, where I intend to spend some years.
Big Country!
Thank you all.
Costantino
