Medical

I just made my appt. for my medical (physical) for private pilot. I just have a few questions... 1st. Do I need to bring anything with me? 2nd. The doctor giving me the physical is my normal doctor who I have been going to since I was 5 or 6. Is this a good or bad idea? Thanks

Medical

As long as your regular doc is listed as an FAA Aviation Medical Examiner (see the database on this website), that would be fine. If you wear glasses or take prescriptions, bring those.

Join AOPA, use their TurboMedical section, that will fill out the form for the doctor and all you'll need to do is bring it in....

It will alert you if you are going to have any problems with a medical condition.

The forum doesn't suck so much as most of us check it only a couple times a month....

I agree with jrbauerjr. Joining AOPA is an excellent idea. I have diabetes and AOPA was instrumental in getting my medical certificate back. As a student pilot, you can join for 6 months free. After that, it's only $39 a year.
