Sorry to say Jeff is no longer a DPE and Sierra Academy was sold. The 141 sold to KS Aviation in Livermore and the 147 school to WyoTech in Oakland. Sierra Academy toward the end has some serious interanal problems, but being sold to different companies needless to say it been a big turn around for both schools.

The 141 school is located in Livermore currently, however the talk on the street it is planing on moving to the old Castle AFB. KS has a huge school over there training pilots for China Airlines.

Do you happen to know Cal Lang? he was my instructor up there.

Jeff Did all of my flight test. he was a gread examiner I learned a ton from him.

I am working on an update for one of my books and am working on a few more. I will put a link to your site in the book

Hi Denny:

I have a learning to fly guide and a stories book that I pulled from that. I am working on a major update for the learning to fly guide as of now. I am also waiting for some feedback by a few DPE's here in the phoenix valley. You can find them at my main website. The links are in my signature.

Retired Engineer (Dec, 2000). I contract to the EPA three days a week as a technical advisor. Keeps my brain working and provides a few extra $ to keep my 170 flying.

Engineer & Business Owner in Orlando

I’m an aerospace engineer in Orlando, and acquired 2 restaurants last year. Both restaurants are doing well, I’m very happy to say. My wife keeps a good eye on them while I keep my day job. She’s a 3rd generation restaurateur, which is why I took the leap into this drastically different industry. She has plenty of experience and contacts, and most importantly an excellent and dependable staff. My plan is to acquire more restaurants with a goal of 50 total, and ease out of my day job to take a more active role in their growth. I’m not in a hurry, and playing it conservatively, making sure the debt is paid down and plenty of cash reserves before transitioning over.

I hope to incorporate flying into the picture as much as possible, ideally using distances between locations as an excuse to fly. I’m also new to flying, have a PPL and looking for people to fly with to build time and more importantly exchange experiences and knowledge. I haven’t been flying much for a while, and I really want to get out there a few times a month. Ideally I would like to meet more pilots to fly with, mainly since I’m a new pilot and would like to build more time and confidence. If you want to fly in Orlando, please let me know!

Also, from my last post—

I was wondering if we have a forum or thread for pilots looking to fly/ train together. I think its educational and fun to fly with other pilots, not to mention reducing costs. It’s also good to know you have another pilot with you, especially while you are still new to the game. Also it would be nice to network with other pilots and meet everyone face to face.
