Gear-up

I was searching the internet for gear-up videos and noticed that in nearly every case, the pilot landed with the prop spinning. Why would he not shutdown the engine, glide the plane in and save the firewall forward?

gear up landing

this is just a guess but maybe it's because the prop usually stops with one or two (3 bladed prop) sticking down anyway. In a 2 blade Warrior with a Lyc. O-320, it always stops with one blade at 5 or 6 o-clock from the pilot's perspective. So, if you're going to sacrifice the prop and engine anyway, why not at least have the engine available for a go around if you don't have everything nominal?
