Anyone remember...
Hi...I stumbled onto you when trying to ferret out a (Perhaps) record flight of the late 40's or so. Hope there's a record buff or Luscombe lover among this group.
I recall that a Luscombe 8 was flown across the North Atlantic in the late 40's or very early 50's, possibly setting a record for the lightest MAGW aircraft to cross at the time. Anyone else remember this? Or any details? Later, in the 60's someone trumped this in a Fournier RF-4. Right?
This started out to be an aside in a little article in a newsletter, and I can't get it out of my head. (And I haven't finished my article, so could still use it.)
Thanks...Ol'Bob
