aviation forums

Forums are a great way to share info, does anyone know of some other forums I can get in touch with in addition to this one ??
Also, I need to contact someone experienced in aircraft charging systems.

Dan,

Thee are a bunch of groups on the usenet, but I'd stear clear of them. I was watching one on aviation safety and noticed it was more of a flame throwing group than anything else and it was cross-posted to about fifteen other aviation related groups.

Now, if you have access to CompuServe, the oldest, at least as far as I know, aviation forum on the internet is the AVSIG run by Aviation Safety Institute. It's been around since at least 1982. That's when I was active on it. I dropped my CompuServe service about six years ago because I couldn't get full access to the internet and haven't been online with them since, but I do have friends who are still very active with them.

They have specialized areas for just about any aviation interest, including one for NATCA, the air traffic controller's union.

While I'm not sure if there are any forums attached to the site, you may want to check out AvWeb. They have a lot of different items and articles every month, including a "brain-teaser" section that addresses aviation issues. http://www.avweb.com/

Another possibility is Landings. While I haven't fuly investigated this site, I've used it and it's search links on occasion. http://www.landings.com/

Hope these help,

Jerry

Dan,

Compuserve is a subscription service similar to AOL.

Thanks for the info, I tried out "avweb" and was supprised at the info avalible. A majority of the forum topics seem to deal more in the way of pilots, which is fine because I am a pilot in the making. But, I wish there were more A+P related sites out there, but most mechanics probably dont rely much on internet to solve problems. Hey, we make the best of what we have right!! thanks for your help !!
