I believe that there is a turbine conversion
for the A36 Bonanza available. Does anyone have more information on the subject Thanks ------------------ Peter du Plessis PO Box 5801 Halfway House South Africa 1685

Personally, I don't understand why someone would want to convert any piston into a turbine. (Just a personal opinion for Hangar talk.) Why spend over half a million dollars converting a Cessna 206, 210, Bonanza, 414, or any other piston engine airplane to a turbine? There are several single-engine turbines out there, and you could get a nice old King-Air or Chieftain for the price. I can't imagine there is any aftermarket for the turbine-conversion piston engine planes. Now, if Williams gets his FJX-2 jet engine finally certified and available for $50,000,THAT's the conversion to make. Even still, why not buy the airframe that's designed for the thing. Again, just an opinion. For that matter, I've read about F. Lee Bailey's company set up to rebuild old Twin Comanches with all the bells and whistles, new leather, instruments, and what not. Why spend half a million dollars to fix up a 35 year old airplane? You can get a new Cirrus that does 160kts with a parachute for under $200K.
