cert./license.???

Hi, I am a new student pilot. I have heard from a few sources that excess automobile traffic violations may bar one from attaining FAA certification, FAA licensing, and aviation related insurance! If true, how many traffic violations are grounds for baring one from FAA cert., licensing, etc.? I have just received my fourth traffic violation within two years(what do you expect,I'm 18). Any further info., answers, or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I am only aware of those infractions that involve drugs or alcohol are of concern to the FAA. However, an insurance company can use whatever info that's at their disposal to determine your risk and therefore their rates.

I agree with the guy above. You will probably not have any problems with just getting a private license, like he said, you might have problems owning. If you are considering an airline career, 1 alcohal offense is usually tolerable, but most will count you out with 2.

I worked for a regional airline this past summer as a ramp agent. During the application process they asked the number of taffic violation we had in the past five years. Fortunatley I was able to get out of the one ticket i received, however I know a number of people who were rejected due to a number of traffic violations. I think that once you hit two violations within two years you might have a problem. Progably not too big-but mostly with the insurance companies. I'd check with any airline you ar interested in for their scecifinc requirements.
