Slick Magnetos

Hi all, I'm am currently a student in N.C. getting my Powerplant rating and was wondering if anyone knows what an X pin hole is used for in a Slick magneto. Any help would be appreciated.

Pin hole is used to hold magneto timing fixed while you insert mag into correct gearmesh position. There are two holes, one for CW rotation, one for CCW rotating mag. Be careful not to turn mag with pin in hole as this can break pin and or rotor which pin is holding from turning. This is part of rough timing mag so you can time with buzz box.
