O.K. O.K. Possibly I was a bit too hard on Bob and a bit premature in my post
I am one, as ScottD posted, who will not attempt such a feat but even if suggested by the POH simply because I prefer to focus all my attention upon landing the airplane. Actually, the only time I "played with the flaps" in an aircraft was during a short field or soft field departure whereby I would "bump" the flaps up a few nothces in several increments to ensure a smooth transition to cruise flight without loosing enough lift to cause a sinking motion.
This I am most comfortable with. One of my primary instructors could have raised the flaps upon touchdown during a particularly gusty day complete with Virga, associated downdrafts, and a host of weather conditions. I state this only to imply it could have been done since it was a particularly windy day and he was seated right in front of the flaps switch.
Otherwise if I am sitting in the left seat, I will either utilize no flaps upon landing or apply a bit of forward pressure on the yoke and brake to encourage the aircraft to remain seated.
If raising flaps during a landing or anything seats well with the PIC, then I encourage you to continue but only at the notion that doing so could impair your landing cause you to be unsafe.
