Congratulations! As a former 58-P owner, I know how you feel. It's a fine airplane with typical Beechcraft handling characteristics. The most fun is on your approach: "Tower this is BARON **** on a five mile left base for runway 19L." You get priority. What I used to do for fun is report about ten miles out--at about 200kts. The tower, thinking you're going to be awhile, casually tells you to announce a two mile downwind, base or something. Lo and behold, you don't back off on the power until you're at the announce point, and the tower goes bonkers--not expecting you for another few minutes. You enter the pattern at the normal speed--after you put the gear down and put on some flaps and such, and the tower scrambles to make space--makes people extend their downwind, etc, etc, to get you down. I used to do that into Prescott, AZ--a busy airport with Embry-Riddle student pilots all over the place. Naturally, you have to know where all of the planes are in the pattern so you don't hit anyone, but it's a heck of a lot of fun to do--once you get used to the plane. You should notice that in busier airports the tower will try to get you down before the singles either circling or in the pattern--a fringe benefit of twin ownership.
