Aftermarket Turbos
Greetings!
Was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of an aftermarket Turbocharger, Supercharger, or Turbonormalizer for the Lycoming IO-360. I own a 2003 Arrow IV, and have had much enjoyment putting 400 hours on it in the year I've had it. I'm currently torn between upgrading to a Seneca for example, or, putting a few more hours on this bird, and getting something more substantial than a Seneca when my experience supports it. My current problem however is I fly "far"...Chicago to New York, Toronto, Reno, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Spokane to name a few. The normally aspirated engine in my little Arrow sure has to fight out West. It's to the point that my next flight to California next month will be on United, as Mountains and no power are a bad combination. My last trip to Las Vegas two weeks ago was one battle after another with all of the weather out West! I have additional motivation to keep the Arrow for another year, as my wife is currently getting her private in it, and will continue on to her instrument. Getting any twin, much less a brand new Seneca would certainly put the kybosh on her training..... If anyone knows of any options for this engine/aircraft, I would be grateful for your input! I just read an article on a Super Charger STC'd for the 182E-P Models that got me thinking! Best Regards, - Scott |
