New To Aviation

In the next few weeks I plan on starting to get my private pilot license. And eventually plan on getting an airplane. When looking at used aircraft I see terms like, TTAF, TSOH, POH. I would appreciate if anyone knows a website to explain these terms and other things I need to know about purchasing a used aircraft. Thanks.

Amram,

There's a great deal of information about buying airplanes especially your first plane out there just search the web. I don't think any can put in an email what you need to know, there are whole books dedicated to this topic. (but just to answer your specific questions TTAF - total time Air Frame, TSOH - time since over haul, POH - pilot operating handbook)

A couple suggestion though, rent first and rent both high and low wing see what you like, get familiar with a couple different models and seek out the help of local pilot maybe your CFI.

You wouldn't buy a horse without knowing how to ride don't buy airplane until you have a few hours under your belt. Now there are some folks out there that may not agree with that but I've always wondered if that guy who bought the new mooney to get his PPL just had more money than sense.

I you like I would be happy to talk with you about it send me a priovate message and I'll give you my contact info.
