Aviation/crew movie

Sorry, in advance, if this is a repeat post. My wife (an AA FA for 15 years) purchased this film "The Aviary" and mad eme watch it with her. It's a feature film about "life at 30,000 feet" that was written and produced by a flight attendant (which, according to my wife, is UAL).

To my shock, the movie is very good. There are some amazing aviation shots (int./ext 747 and 777) and it's a great story focusing on the relationship between a flight attendant and an airline captain. Great acting, very well done.

You can watch the trailer and read about the FA who made it at: http://theaviarymovie.com

The Aviary

Thanks for the heads up! I'm new to this forum and this is just the kind of "insiders" info I'm looking for. Hello everyone! I just ordered the movie so I'll share once I've seen it!

Like many people I believed being a FA was a pretty easy job, until I went to Delta FA training. Needless to say I came away with a higher regard and respect for all FA's. I fly with a lot of different airlines in the cockpit with the crews as part of my job and each flight is different. The captain has his way of doing things and the head FA has theirs.

If the FA (A) is an out going type it certainly make the ride a lot better for me and the passengers. My hat is off to all FA's, if only the passengers really knew what it takes to be a FA. Being a FA is one of the hardest jobs I have every seen. It may look so simple, but there is a lot passenger don't see.

I came across this review today. Gives a pretty detailed synopsis of the movie:

The Aviary

I've watched the aviary three times now. It's a pretty awesome movie. Although I don't think the lead summer pozzi is the 'average' flight attendant, it shows the job as it really is - hard! But it also shows some of the joys as well. The second time I watched it I really got it. There's a lot of layers going on. The really compelling aspect is the anonymous quality of the life. Like any service job, being a faceless corporate employee is really hard, and this film captures it perfectly. I highly recommend it. However, don't expect your average romantic comedy. This film is a little different and does have some darker elements. Good work to those that made it!

Thumbs down

I think that someone needs to charge this chick for advertising her movie!

I am a member of 20 or so aviation message boards and there is a post just like this, "Hey I just saw this F/A movie..." from some 'member' on every one! Get real. I think she registered herself everywhere and started posting like crazy just to get free promo for this flick. On the board where I moderate I took it off as free advertising is not allowed.

Enough already.
