Help needed please!

Hi There,

I am just starting the main project for my final year at university, the aim of this project is to create a piece of flight planning software, that will help users plan distances and journey times. I am after some help with ideas for what might be useful for private pilots in this type of software. Before I started this project I did not have any real background knowledge of the aviation industry, so I am very much learning from square one at present. The kind of things that I would like to include in my software would be information about the weather, and if it is safe to fly etc... I would be grateful for any further ideas and thoughts on what could be included that you have maybe found helpful in other flight planning software, or perhaps a type of functionality that you wish were included on the current software on the market.

I would be very grateful for any responses, from any basic thoughts to any detailed ideas!
