How to get authorization to work or find visa sponsor
I am a foreign pilot from Asia and would like to fly in US regional airlines.
I sent my resumes to several regional airlines and first they get interested in me because I have quite flight experince but once they knew I do not have green card or work permit whatever authorization to work in US, they say sorry, we can not employ you, and after that I asked them to be my sponsor, they answer sorry, we can not support your visa. I understand they can not employ me becasue I do not have authorization to work in USA but why not they can be my sponsor to help me for obtaining work visa ? I suppose that the reasons are that they can not spend time use energy to do that. I would like to know the reason for that and also any regional airlines which has become sponsor for foreign pilots to obtain work visa. |

Foreign Pilot Sponsors
Big Sky, I don't know the facts but I suspect there is at least some obligation on the part of the sponsor and the reason a company would take that obligation on is they are having a problem with a particular skill set that the foreign worker applicant can satisfy.
In the case of flying skills, I suspect there are many, many, MANY, (like, a lot) of prospective applicants to competer for each position so, if you're the regional airline, why take it on? I hope that doesn't sound cold blooded and please don't take it as an attempt to discourage you but it's just business and those are the realities. I firmly believe if you keep at it and try every door that even hints at being open to you, you will succeed. Be open to all possibilities. Good luck. |
