Insurance?

How does insurance work with pursuing and after achieving a PPL?

Is insurance of the Airplane while taking a lesson included in the price?

and...

After receiving your PPL, is insurance included in the rental fee?

Thanks
John

Most Flight schools do carry their own insurance coverage. This however does not mean if there is an accident that the insurance company after paying the claim for the flight school will not turn around and come after you for the total amount paid. To prevent this while renting and taking lessons the renter/student should carry some non-owned hull and or liability coverage. this is not such a big deal while you are logging your dual hours because your instructor is technically PIC if something unforseen did happen.

You should definately carry non-owned hull and liability coverage if you are a renter. as i have never seen insurance included in the rental cost of the aircraft.

you may obtain non-owned insurance just like you would obtain hull and liability coverage for an a/c that you own by contacting and aviation insurance broker.
