Anyone doing IFR training?

Anyone doing IFR training at the moment?

I'm training in the DA-40 for 40 hours (I need more cross country time) at $145/hr with all the requirements, exam fee, etc...I'm facing a $7500 bill for the certification. Does that sound about right to you?

I could save a few buck if I could get a pilot friend to sit in as safety and probably only save me about $500 - $600.
