Cost of learning to fly.

I'm sure you can get a million variations of this answer.
Your actual cost depends on a lot of things: ground school cost, instructor's rate, rental rate, study materials, ect...........
I would suggest meeting with a local instructor in person. When I approached mine he was able to break down the approximate cost for me as well as discuss the progession of the training so I would know what to expect. With this information and knowing the cost of ground school weather formal of DVD will give you a good estimate of the cost.
I personally decided to spend a year surfing the net for info as well as buying the Sporty's DVD set to study prior to ever stepping foot inside a plane. My thoughts were that I didn't want to waste any time when I was paying for it by the hour.
I would say go see what the estimated cost and time involved are and see if it's something you are really commited to. After you have decided I would get as educated as you can on the ground.
GOOD LUCK!

I have seen posts about pilots wanting to know how to become a crop duster. Many of these posts are only guessing at what it takes to actually become a spray pilot. I'm here to tell you all that there is a book available on iBooks that explains just how to get started, it's called "So You Want To Be A Crop Duster". It should answer most all of your questions. If not, send the guy an email.
Also in the book is a brief chapter about the cost of getting your pilot's license. There are several methods a new student may use to obtain their pilot's license. Buy the book, It's only $8.
