Hello,
I'm a french private pilot and i'm after a time building in the US because of the lower costs...
Can anyone advise me a location or a school?

Hi Vincent,
You will have to be more specific! America is the land of opportunity and there are schools, instructors and airplanes everywhere. I would suggest looking up aopa online and if your not a member join.

I work for a large part 141 flight school in Philadelphia. Assuming you will not be buying the time, one way, not necessarily the best, to build time is to teach flying. Obviously you will have to fund yourself to get a CFI. We also fly traffic reporters on about 4 or 5 2-3 hour flights five days a week. That builds time much faster than students. Done properly, 100 hours a month can be achieved here. It builds single engine time, mind you, not multi. Building multi time on someone else's dollar is a tricky art. To come to the US, I beleive you need an M1 visa or something like that.

a great way to build time is to banner tow. Only a little training is needed because it is illegal to tow something from your airplane without an FAA waiver.

Karl, have you pulled a banner? What kind of training is necessary and where would you get it?

I've read some about banner towing in "Private Pilot" and "Flying" magazines, and I don't think it's as simple or safe as Karl is making it out to be. I guess it all depends on the employer, but I've heard some of the aircraft are barely airworthy.
