Discovery flight
Hi,
I have always wanted to learn how to fly since I was a kid. After emigrating to the US in 1992, I had planned to do this after I was financially stable. I finally decided to do this last year. And after about a year of dragging my feet, I finally took a discovery flight at a local school here today. It was quite good. The instructor allowed my wife to ride along too. We did a few turns and banks. And he let me steer on the ground before takeoff and after landing. He said that I had good control of the plane in flight and I corrected quite nicely for the unpredicable lift here in the Rockies. However, on the way down, during landing, I was feeling uneasy since we dropped altitude sharply in order to land. Is this common on the first flight, or do you think this feeling will persist? Should I continue learning think about it again? Any hints, ideas? -Just |

It could be just because it was the first time. You might try the manuver at altitude, see how it feels without the ground being there. Then do a landing and see how it feels. Just remember that you can take things at your pace, and have fun. After all your paying for it.
