Pilot Careers
As of now I am a sutdent pilot thinking of various flying careers. I would like to fly smaller airplanes and do low altitude observation reconisonce stuff. Would anyone have any career ideas for me? Thanks

You could always fly for a hydro-electric company, they often use both helicopters and small airplanes to locate damages in towers and lines throughout rural areas...just a suggestion!

Customs, state patrol, aerial fire-spotting are a few other possibilities.
By the way where in MN are you from?

In Australia, there are quite a few jobs for Mustering pilots. That is cattle & sheep mustering, low level with all the thrills & dangers. You have to have a low level and mustering endorsement though and of course, a Aussie licence. It is a great life, but not a lot of money, but then where in GA do you get paid properly anyway???? Cheers from Down Under

I live in the west central part of MN around Morris (where I fly out of). I am training out of a 172 when ever I can scrape up enough money to do so on a weekend job.

Really, I go to school at St. Cloud State. Two of my roomates are from Morris (one from Morris + one from Hancock)! It sure is a small world.
