Web scanners
Hi,
my instructor recommended that I get to the airport half an hour before class and listen to ground control and tower communications on the scanner in order to get more comfortable with the lingo. While this would certainly help, it's only going to be once a week. I'm wondering if there are any scanners on the web - you know, like those radio stations that you can listen to online. |

Larry,
Why limit yourself to once a week or something off the web? Check out Sporty's or Radio Shack and pick up an aviation scanner for your home. Then call the friendly folks at your FAA flight service station, tell them where you are (town/city) and ask for the tower, approach, and center frequencies for your area. Make them feel good and ask for their frequencies also. ;-) Program them into the scanner and listen away. If you're within ten to fifteen miles of the FAA's radio site, you should hear both ends of the conversation. Good Luck, Jerry ------------------ Comments and opinions are my own and do not reflect those of my employer.
